As my grandpa used to tell me, the only real ways to lose weight and keep it off are through portion control and exercise. Yes, a balanced diet helps keep you healthy, but it is simple math, in order to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume. Besides being my wonderful grandpa, he was also a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and practiced general medicine in Seattle for almost 50 years.
I lost 15 pounds in the past three months because I have found a way that works for me to control how much I eat. I am taking a capsule of Garcinia Cambogia extract (GCE) about 30-45 minutes before each meal.
For the first time in my life, I feel full after eating a healthy portion of food. My guts feel uncomfortable if I eat too much, which helps me keep my emotional eating in check.
I am a big guy. At the beginning of this year, I weighed in at 234 pounds, which while not my heaviest, is still way more than I should weigh. I have been slowly putting on weight since our children were born over 9 years ago. I am not happy that I have had to get bigger pants several times during the last 9 years.
Over those years, I’ve been able to loose 5 pounds here or there with a concentrated effort at dieting and getting extra exercise, but I’ve not been able to keep it off. I’ve tried a couple different fad diets, but none of them were effective or worked out with our overly busy lives. The Garcinia Cambogia feels different, but I will have to wait until I have achieved my desired weight and see if I can keep the excess weight off before I am sure.
I started taking the extract in January. I had seen an ad for it featuring a bad copy of a Dr. Oz video (note – any ad with Dr. Oz in it is actually a scam so don’t buy it if his picture is next to it). I did go find the real Dr. Oz video, Garcinia Cambogia: The Newest, Fastest Fat-Buster, on this miracle weight loss solution and decided it was worth a try.
Honestly, I am amazed at how well it has worked for me. I have lost 15 pounds so far, reduced my pants size by 2 inches and feel and look better. I am not a doctor and you should definitely consult with your healthcare provider before taking herbal supplements as they can cause problems and should be avoided if you have certain medical conditions. For Garcinia Cambogia, you should not take it if you pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, if you have diabetes you should work with your doctor as it can alter your blood sugar.
Eating less is not just good for you, it is a good for the planet. You can find plenty of studies showing that reducing the consumption of meat and other carbon intensive foods can have a major impact on your carbon footprint – even more than switching to driving a Prius. Therefore, eating less has cut my carbon footprint.
p.s. There are a lot of options out there for Garcinia Cambogia, from liquids to powders to pills. Dr. Oz gives advice on choosing a good product. The version I tried and am happy with is sold at Amazon as The Best Garcinia Cambogia Extract 100% Pure, 1000mg per Cap, 65% HCA, 180 Count, Serving Size Just 1 Capsule.
