Flush for Good Giveaway – $200 Home Depot or Lowe’s Gift Cards

In honor of World Toilet Day and their Flush for Good Campaign, American Standard is encouraging people around the world to learn more about saving water.  To help promote it, they are giving 2 of our readers each a $200 gift card to Home Depot or Lowe’s.  There’s no restrictions on how you use the card, but we hope you will use it to save water, or to at least to save energy.clipart toilet seat with text flush for good

In September we did our part of saving water by replacing our toilet with a new, Champion, 1.28 gallons per flush toilet.  Jonathan was very successful in installing it himself.  We have written about many ways to save water, but Alicia’s favorite is to bathe the children less often

We like to really try something out before reviewing it, so in November we will review the toilet  just in time for World Toilet Day (here’s a hint, we haven’t had to plunge it yet!).

The Flush for Good Campaign is raising awareness about sanitary issues around the world.  While in the US it is important to conserve clean water because it is a finite resource, in other countries there is so little potable water that it is not used for toileting and sewers.  In some places toilets are actually open pit latrines that allow germs, flies and smells out. American Standard has developed a product called SaTo which is cost effective and uses simple mechanical and water seals to close the latrines off from the open air.  To get these products to where they are needed American Standard is working with international development organizations and donating them based on their sales of Champion toilets and through other promotional efforts.  American Standard is donating 20 in honor of our readers and is donating 1 for every 100 likes on their Flush for Good Facebook Page

Good luck and Happy Greening!
